I got a Job offer But...  - 25 December 2020

Hello Again,

I do study Advance JAVA in Innoventaa Technologies and the sir who's the owner of this company as well as other 2 companies. So there was a job opening at Softvan Pvt. Ltd. and I applied. 

First-round consists of technical programming questions, the round was held on 12th December. And the result came on 17th December and I cracked the first round. 

On 18th December there was the 2nd round which was a personal interview. It had basic JAVA questions and a program. And on the night of the 18th, I got a call that I cleared the 2nd Round also and there is a third-round tomorrow i.e. 19th December.

So on 19th December, I had the third round with tricky java questions as well as advanced java questions. And at last, there was a programming session of 30 mins, in which I had given 4 programs and I have to submit them by writing them in notepad. 

And I completed the programming round also, then the interviewer told me to wait for some time, and then he came and said HR will join the call now and from my side interview is completed, Now she will continue further.

And the HR mam came and told me that you are selected as Full Stack Java Developer at Softvan Pvt. Ltd. And I was literally amazed like I have cleared my first interview in my life. And happiness on my face was just amazing...

And then HR told me rules and regulations for the company, And then told me that you will be having training of 6 months from Jan 2021 to June 2021 with a stipend of 5000 per month. And then from July, you will start your job with a salary of 16,500 per month(CTC). And this is the initial salary it will increase from 20k to 22k in Jan 2022 and 25k+ in July 2022.

I was a bit confused that should I join or not at less salary. But then I realized that the company is good because I do study here for 1.5 years and I got amazing knowledge, and in java, in Ahmedabad, there are fewer companies who offer you a job. So I am lucky that I have got the post that I like so much that is full stack developer.

I told my mom about it and she said "Kya mtlb iska, job toh aati jaati rahegi. Tu GATE pe dhyaan de and masters kar."

And my face turned like a fresh rose to withered rose. Like they are not happy for me, that I cracked my first interview and got my dream job. They are interested in M.Tech.

And then I told my dad on phone, they were happy that I cracked the interview, and I told "raat ko aao ache se bataunga". And they came in the evening with a small fruit cake for me and told "yeh cake pehla interview pass karne ke liye job join karni hai ke nahi vo dekhte hai". My parents want me to study for masters at least, and then do the job. 

But that is possible only if I get good marks in GATE. And the GATE syllabus is of total theory and no programming, So I don't like theoretical knowledge, I want practical knowledge. But my parents didn't understand, They think that a master's degree is important than practical knowledge. 

I told this to sir, and sir told me you can join from march 2021 after your exam. And I am okay with it. And then after a day, I got to know that sir will give me a job only if there's a vacancy for me in the march month.

And I immediately told my parents about it, My dad said okay join from 1st Jan 2021, but you have to do M.Tech with your job. And I told okay I will try. And then I called sir that I will join from 1st Jan 2021, so when will I come for management round.

And sir told me that do message me tomorrow (24th Dec), I messaged sir yesterday and he didn't replied. So I called them, he said that I will reply to you once I get time for your management round.

And I think sir is ignoring me because sir thinks that I have to do m.tech and I will leave the job once I will get admission in a college.

And still, my parents do ask Mamas and uncles about the job and then everyone calls me and tells don't go for a job, go for MBA or MTech. But they don't have any knowledge of computer engineering, They are of the old generation, they still think that study is more important than programming. 

For MBA I have to give the CAT exam and if I got above the 95 percentile, then will get admission to a good college. And there also 10th 12th marks matter. 

I am a person who got 60.5 % in 10th and 57 % in 12th, and my parents want me to join IIT's and IIM's which are impossible for me. Everyone has their interests I am interested in programming, then why don't they allow me to join the company. 

I can't study for 8 hours a day for theoretical knowledge, If you say me to make a project or program I will do that happily even for 10 hours a day. 

But no one will understand me.
